Converting an Existing Well
Oil Well to Water Well Conversion
Eagle Ford shale oil drilling has been popular for years, leaving South Texas loaded with farms and ranches that have old oil wells that are now abandoned. Having an oil well that no longer produces may seem like a waste, but you do have the option of converting it to a new water well. Our drilling contractors can perforate the well to get to the water supply while adding a cement plug to seal off the oil forever. For anyone who has had oil companies drilling in their Eagle Ford property, converting them into water wells can save you a lot of money in the long run, and they give new life to old oil wells.
Windmill Conversion to Solar
Windmills can be inefficient and a hassle to maintain. Let us convert your windmill pump to a solar pump. You can even keep the old windmill over the hole if you like the looks of yesteryear!
Restoration and Maintenance Services
Water Well Rehab
Clean outs, deepening, liners, jetting, etc. Some older wells have good casing, but they still don’t produce the water that they should. Options for cleaning include jetting, chemical, brushing, and sonar jetting.
Liners
In cases of deteriorating casing, we may be able to install a liner that can extend the life of your well.
Water Well Plug and Abandonment
When old water wells stop producing, are damaged or cross-contaminated, it might be time to plug it. It’s not a matter of just covering it up, however. To properly plug the well, all state and local groundwater codes must be followed to ensure the health of your groundwater and the aquifer.
Down Hole Video
You may have a well that was fully functional but is suddenly not producing water. It’s difficult to say what the problem is, or more importantly where the problem is, since physically climbing down the well is not an option. Instead, we’ll run a camera down into the well to locate the problem area, and identify the problem itself, as well as develop a reasonable solution to get your well working again.
Specialized Services for New Wells
Logging Services
Logging the well helps us to identify water producing zones, separate formations and pinpoint screen placement. Bull’s Eye can run a full suite of logs: gamma, resistivity, caliper, bond, etc.
Well Perforating
Your well is drilled, has a steel casing, and is particularly deep. Because of its depth, the higher pressure created by the depth of the well crushes the typical screens used to pump water up to the surface. How do you get your water pumped through it? The answer is to perforate the casing so that the well can access fresh water directly. Perforating works by sending a pipe loaded with explosives that shoot out from the pipe and go through the casing like thousands of tiny bullets. These holes create a screen through which water is pumped.
Our staff will work with you to determine which services are needed for your well and that the work done on your property meets your needs and complies with state and local laws. Contact us today to determine what service your well needs, and we’d be happy to answer all of your questions and concerns.
